Bentonville, Ark. (February 2, 2026) – Alice L. Walton School of Medicine (AWSOM) opened the art exhibition In Visible Landscapes, organized by Art Bridges’ Assistant Curator Julia Mun. On display in AWSOM’s first floor art gallery, the exhibition features works from the River of No Return series by American photographer Laura McPhee, whose large-scale landscape photography explores the relationship between humanity and nature.

McPhee took the photographs between 2003 and 2008 in Idaho’s Sawtooth Valley, demonstrating the effects of time and human activity on the environment. AWSOM invites visitors to explore the gallery, observe the landscapes and inhabitants McPhee captured, and consider their own connections to their surroundings and larger networks of care.

Elsewhere in the building, other stories of visibility are shared through Tell Me (2023) by Sasha Gordon, Goliath (1989) by Lynda Benglis, and Solar Catastrophe (2016) by Allora & Calzadilla.

These artworks and In Visible Landscapes will be on display from Feb. 2 to Aug. 14, 2026.

AWSOM’s public spaces, including the art gallery and AWSOM Café, are open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed on weekends and major holidays. Free parking is available at Crystal Bridges Campus Parking.
