In early October, NBC's the TODAY Show correspondent Kathy Park visited Alice L. Walton School of Medicine to hear from AWSOM founder Alice Walton, AWSOM Assistant Professor, Pathology Stephen Nix, MD, and students from AWSOM’s inaugural class.

The NBC crew captured students participating in educational activities across the Crystal Bridges Campus including Heartland Whole Health Institute, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, and AWSOM spaces such as the Teaching Garden.

The feature premiered to an estimated audience of over 2 million viewers on October 30, showcasing AWSOM's unique approach to medical education, with a focus on the integration of the arts into the curriculum.

“I think health care needs art, and art needs health care,” Walton said in her conversation with Parks.
