On May 23, 2024, Alice L. Walton School of Medicine celebrated a milestone in the construction of its 154,000 square-foot medical education facility by signing and placing the final steel beam at the School’s topping out ceremony.

Signing their names to the beam were team members from the School and Crossland Construction Company, Inc. The beam was then hoisted into place, marking 60% completion of the building.

The building is on-track to open in Summer 2025 on the Crystal Bridges campus, home of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and Heartland Whole Health Institute. It will feature 13 classrooms, 18 study rooms, 12 clinical exam rooms, and four simulation suites, along with a medical education library, student theater, and a 2-acre rooftop park that connects to the Crystal Bridges trail system.
