The 3,010-square-foot Anatomy Resource Center (ARC) offers an immersive experience combining cutting-edge technology with hands-on learning.
With its blend of traditional and innovative educational methods, the ARC stands as a beacon for excellence in anatomy education, preparing students to master the complexities of the human body with confidence and precision. Our approach emphasizes small-group learning ensuring that each student engages with anatomy on a personal and profound level.
About the ARC
Plastination for Anatomy Education
The ARC houses a collection of over 100 plastinated and plastic human specimens, providing students with a detailed, realistic view of human anatomy. This invaluable resource supports an in-depth exploration of normal anatomical structures and their variations.
Plastination allows for dry, odorless, long-term preservation of bodies, organs, and tissues without exposure to hazardous fixatives associated with traditional donors.
Technology
This state-of-the-art learning center is equipped with advanced tools, including virtual reality (VR), which brings anatomical structures to life and enhances understanding through 2D and 3D interactive visualization. Students experience surface, regional, and cross-sectional anatomy, as well as embryology and histology, all within a dynamic and supportive environment.
