Sylvia Merino, MBA, MPH

Sylvia Merino, MBA, MPH, serves as Director, Simulation at Alice L. Walton School of Medicine. In this role, she supports faculty from preclinical, clinical, and interprofessional programs by planning and implementation of simulation-based learning events. Her work focuses on creating realistic scenarios and practice sessions utilizing high fidelity simulators and procedural task trainers. She oversees simulation operations that bridge student learning from formative experience to competency based final evaluation and assessment. In addition to her Director role, Merino serves as an Instructor in the Department of Medical Education with expertise in facilitation and student debriefing of immersive active learning and facilitates the selection and integration of new simulation technologies.
