Research Focus and Interests:

  • AI in Medical Education: Development and evaluation of adaptive AI tutoring systems, AI-generated script concordance tests, illness script flash cards, and branched case scenarios, with emphasis on addressing persistent misconceptions in physiology and improving clinical reasoning skills

  • Educational Simulation and Device Development: Design and implementation of interactive learning tools grounded in experiential learning theory, cognitive apprenticeship, and Vygotsky's zone of proximal development. Projects include mechanical ventilator trainers, Arduino-based devices (pulmonary function testing, pulse oximetry, lung simulators), and online interactive simulations (blood flow, and pressure-volume loops). Particularly interested in how students develop mental models and clinical thinking

  • Translational Neuroscience: Meta-analytic approaches to evaluating hypotheses in Alzheimer's disease research
