The Marketing & Communications Manager, Whole Health School of Medicine is responsible for strategy, planning, and implementation of overall communications efforts for the School. This role coordinates communications efforts closely with the Director of Communications, Whole Health Institute. It also functions as a part of the overall communications efforts for organizations founded by Alice L. Walton and operating on the same campus as the Institute.
The Marketing & Communications Manager works closely with the leadership of the School of Medicine in setting strategies and recruitment goals. This position requires a skilled communicator able to work successfully with a variety of stakeholder groups both external and internal.

Whole Health School of Medicine and Health Sciences aims to educate medical students through a whole health perspective, which integrates conventional medicine with holistic principles and practices, taught by leading medical practitioners and scientific minds in a four-year, degree-granting curriculum.

Principal Responsibilities
The Marketing & Communications Manager is responsible for:
- Overseeing strategy, planning and implementation of earned, owned and paid media, including annual communications plan covering PR, marketing, content, creative, and digital resources.
- Developing brand standards with an effective institutional voice, graphic identity, key messaging, visual assets, templates, and style guidelines.
- Managing the production of all collateral materials, digital properties, advertising, promotional programs, and institutional signage.
- Directing message platforms and communication channel strategies for internal, external, and online audiences including the intranet, newsletters, website, and social media platforms.
- Managing media relations and securing regional and national media coverage.
- Evaluating the reach and impact of communications efforts through ongoing assessments and reporting.
- Developing and managing crisis and emergency communications as needed.
- Creating an annual communications budget and associated resources.
- Writing and editing content for the website and managing digital media assets (images, video, audio) working with outside agencies, vendors, and freelancers as needed.
- Overseeing media management software, CRM, and other essential communications tools.
- Managing School of Medicine email lists, organically growing and segmenting, and creating, sending, and tracking email campaigns and conversions.
Essential Qualifications
Education, Training, and Traits:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or a similar field
- Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate in a clear and persuasive manner
- Superb writing and editing skills
- Brand management experience
- Ability to understand and maintain the highest levels of confidentiality
- Highest ethics as they relate to all aspects of private non-profit practices
- A high level of professional integrity and the ability to handle sensitive issues and situations with discretion
Work Experience:
- Minimum of five years of experience in communications, public relations, or marketing; experience in communications related to health and/or higher-education is preferred.
