R. David Roos, EdD, MBA
Assistant Dean, Student Affairs
R. David Roos, EdD, MBA is Assistant Dean, Student Affairs for Alice L. Walton School of Medicine. In this role, he provides leadership for all student affairs matters including career advising, academic assistance, student progress, student wellness, financial aid, registration, and academic events.
Prior to joining the school, Dr. Roos was the Senior Director of Enrollment Management at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions, where he oversaw the enrollment management process and supervised the Admissions, Recruitment, Campus Web Development & Operations, and Marketing offices.
As the Associate Dean of Student Affairs at Rocky Vista University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Roos created a new student affairs department from the ground up and launched several new student success programs, including a family support network and pre-orientation course.
Dr. Roos earned his Bachelor of Science, Computer Information Systems, Master of Business Administration and Doctor of Education, Curriculum & Instruction from Utah State University. In 2022, he received a certification in Inclusivity in the Workplace from Cornell University and an Americans with Disabilities (ADA) Certification from the Association of Title IX Administrators.
In addition to his academic accomplishments, Dr. Roos has served on national student affairs boards, as an accreditation reviewer, and as a member of a national consortium to improve student outcomes.
