Loretto Glynn, MD, MBA, FACS, FAAP

Associate Dean, Clinical Affairs

Loretto Glynn, MD, MBA, FACS, FAAP, serves as Associate Dean, Clinical Affairs at Alice L. Walton School of Medicine. In this role, she is responsible for the School’s clinical activities, including developing and strengthening relationships with clinical partners. 

Prior to joining the School, Dr. Glynn was Professor of Surgery and Pediatrics and Director of Pediatric Surgery at NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine and NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island in Long Island, New York. 

In her 30+ years of experience, Dr. Glynn has also served as Director of Pediatric Surgery at Mercyhealth Javon Bea Hospital, Rockford, Director of Children’s Specialty Services at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Associate Professor of Surgery and Pediatrics at the Indiana University School of Medicine, Director of Pediatric Surgery and Associate Professor of Surgery and Pediatrics at Northwest Medicine Central DuPage Hospital, Assistant Professor of Surgery and Pediatrics and Director of Undergraduate Education (Department of Surgery) and ECMO Service at University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. At Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine, she served as Professor of Surgery and Pediatrics, Director of Pediatric Surgery and Pediatric Trauma, Vice Chair of Education (Department of Surgery), and Residency Program Director (General Surgery). 

Dr. Glynn received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Loyola University Chicago, a medical degree from Rush University, and an executive master’s degree in business administration from Brandeis-Heller School for Social Policy and Management.  

Dr. Glynn is board-certified in General Surgery, Critical Care, and Pediatric Surgery. She completed a general surgery residency at University of Illinois, a pediatric critical care/ECMO residency at University of Chicago, a surgical critical care residency at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a pediatric surgery residency at University of Missouri Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. 

Dr. Glynn has presented research nationally and internationally. She is a member of many health care associations, including the Health Policy Advisory Committee for the American College of Surgeons, American Medical Association, Society of Critical Care Medicine, American College of Surgeons, American Pediatric Surgical Association, Association of Women Surgeons, and the Association of Surgical Education.
