Patrick Brooks, MD, FASCRS
Director, Clinical Integration Education and Associate Professor

Patrick Brooks, MD, FASCRS, serves as Director, Clinical Integration Education at Alice L. Walton School of Medicine. In this role, he oversees the intentional integration of clinical experiences into the ARCHES curriculum, as well as serving as an Associate Professor.
Prior to joining the School, Dr. Brooks was an Assistant Professor of Biomedical Sciences and School of Anesthesia at Missouri State University. He also has GME teaching experience as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
While serving as a Major in the USAF Medical Corps, Dr. Brooks was a General Surgeon, Colon and Rectal Surgeon, and Trauma Surgeon in the Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. He went on to serve as a General Surgeon and Colon and Rectal Surgeon at Mercy Hospital Springfield in Springfield, Missouri.
Dr. Brooks received his bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan, and his MD at the University of Michigan Medical School. He completed his fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at the William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.
Dr. Brooks is a Fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and a member of the American Association for Anatomy. His excellence in surgery and medical education has been recognized with awards including the Upjohn Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement for graduating at the top of his medical school class, the Eula and Donald S. Coffee Innovative Research Award which he received at the Society for Basic Urologic Research Annual Meeting in 2020, and numerous USAF Decorations including the Meritorious Service Medal.
