Lori Garman, PhD

Associate Professor, Medical Microbiology & Immunology

Lori Garman, PhD, serves as Associate Professor of Medical Microbiology & Immunology at Alice L. Walton School of Medicine. In this role, she delivers the School’s Medical Microbiology & Immunology curriculum.

Prior to joining the School, Dr. Garman was Assistant Professor of Microbiology & Immunology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, where she also served as the Program Director of the Microbiology & Immunology Graduate Program and Director of Educational Research. She has previously served as a Staff Scientist and Director of Operations of the Quantitative Analysis Core facility at Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, and a Visiting Assistant Professor and Adjunct Professor of Biology at Oklahoma Christian University.

Dr. Garman earned her bachelor’s in zoology and PhD in microbiology and immunology from the University of Oklahoma. Her work in research and medical education has been recognized by several awards. She has presented research on statistics and informatics, immunology, and education both nationally and internationally.
